| Mark Latham Memorial Award |
Over the past two decades, many of you have generously donated to the Mark Latham Memorial Fund. Mark was a special friend, and a huge influence on campus. We'll remember Mark as the Golden Words stalwart where he was both an regular contributor and editor. He was a top Engineering Chemistry student, an active Bews athlete and the person who played an instrumental role in our 4th year Globe and Mail prank which gained Science '83 national visibility and notoriety. Mark was always up to pitch in and help with any worthwhile Engineering Society work worth doing.
Each year, a 4th year Applied Science student receives the award of about $4,000. In addition to good academic standing, the recipient is a well rounded student combining enthusiasm and leadership with integrity and a sense of humour – just like Mark.
Thank you for your ongoing support of this initiative. As part of our 25th Reunion plans, we want to dramatically increase the size of this fund to honor Mark's memory and the contribution he made to Queen's and the class of Science '83. So we are asking for your help to remember him and to inspire future Mark-like students.

Fund Raising Target |
Our goal is to reach $250,000 by the time of our 25th Reunion, and as extra motivation we have arranged a special matching pledge: for every dollar we raise, it will be matched until the fund reaches $250,000! Additionally, Queen's Board of Trustees will match gifts up to $1,000 from brand new donors – if you’ve never given to Queen’s before, now is the time!
The easiest way to give a donation is through the Queen's website at https://www.givetoqueens.ca/
Under “Please direct my gift to:” choose “Other” and write “Mark Latham Memorial Award”
(for other ways to give, please click here)
Many thanks for your support.
